Team Insights: A Conversation with the Founder
Jason Yoo
What inspired you to start SelltoKorea?
“As someone who’s worked with U.S. brands for years, I saw a growing interest in the Korean market — but also the same recurring obstacles: language barriers, complex logistics, unfamiliar platforms, and lack of reliable partners.
Many sellers had great products but no way to enter Korea smoothly or sustainably.
That’s when I realized: there’s a huge need for a localized, full-service solution — not just another agency, but a real extension of the seller’s team.
SelltoKorea was born from that need. We’re here to be more than a service provider.
We’re here to be a strategic partner who simplifies Korea, so global brands can grow faster and more confidently.”
What problem were you trying to solve?
“Global brands — especially from the U.S. — wanted to enter the Korean market, but they kept hitting the same walls:
complicated platform requirements, customs issues, language barriers, and no clear guidance on how to actually operate in Korea.
Many had great products, but no idea how to handle listings, logistics, customer service, or returns in a totally different market.
We saw that there was no single solution that truly understood both sides — the global seller and the Korean market.
So, we built SelltoKorea to solve that exact problem.
Not just to offer advice, but to provide hands-on, full-service execution — from onboarding to fulfillment, CS, and beyond.”
Where do you see SelltoKorea in the next 3–5 years?
“In the next 3 to 5 years, I see SelltoKorea becoming the leading cross-border partner for global brands entering Korea.
Not just a service provider — but a full-scale infrastructure that helps brands operate locally while staying global.
We plan to expand our logistics footprint, deepen our integration with major Korean platforms like Coupang and Naver, and invest heavily in automation and data tools to help sellers grow faster.
I also see us building a strong seller community — where global entrepreneurs can share insights, learn together, and grow their presence in Korea with confidence.
Ultimately, we want SelltoKorea to be the go-to gateway for anyone serious about entering and scaling in the Korean e-commerce market.”
